Founder of OceanWave Coaching OceanWave Coaching is led by its founder John Campbell Ricketts. His approach to all coaching -
executive/managerial, 1:1 or team - is a blend of developmental and transformational: not restricted to a single style or psychological basis, although drawing on many. Rather than focusing on performance he believes that leadership will result in performance improvements.

His aim is achievement of individual and organisational goals, using a coaching process supported by appropriate tools relating to leadership or managerial style, organisational climate, emotional intelligence, etc.

Early time with a mixed commercial and industrial group of companies gave him a good understanding of organisational issues as well as commercial practices.

His 30-year career in the Police Service included both high profile and sensitive responsibilities. He also had a number of specialist roles in HR and Development. His track record as a champion of fairness, diversity and development can be evidenced over 20 years.

He coached people at a range of organisational levels, including those identified for high potential development.

In 2001 he established his own business as a Coach/Consultant specialising in Business/Executive Coaching and related development activities.

He is also a Faculty Member of The OCM, working on qualification programmes for the CIPD as well.

Both in his public service career and since he has been involved in HR Strategy and Planning, Performance Management, People Development and Organisational Change.

His coaching clients have come from all sectors: financial, manufacturing, engineering, ITC, health, education, etc., as well as central and local government and the voluntary sector.

Within the European Commission he has coached in Brussels, Luxembourg, Spain and UK, predominantly with Directors, but including Cabinet and specialists. He is also engaged in Team Coaching in the EC.

OceanWave's capacity to support larger and more widespread organisations as well as to offer a range of backgrounds and individuals comes from their network of coaches. All have previously held senior management responsibility, coming from both public and private sectors, such as:-

They are all qualified coaches, to at least practitioner level amd members of the European Coaching and Mentoring Council or similar professional body within coaching. As well as UK based associates, we have coaches based in a number of mainland European countries, mostly bi-lingual (some tri-).
